Why Did Police Shut Down Shamoon Ismail’s Concert In Karachi?

Believe it or not, they actually had a good reason.

Popular singer Shamoon Ismail’s concert came to an abrupt end on Saturday due to numerous SOP violations by the crowd. The ‘Rung’ singer was already a couple of songs into his performance during in Karachi when he and his band were asked to leave the stage by the authorities.

Shamoon Ismail is a popular music artist in showbiz these days. The singer as well as his fans were pumped for a live concert event after so long. Shamoon decided to rock the stage this weekend at Karachi’s Avari Towers. The crowd grooved to his songs until the band and their ongoing concert was abruptly stopped by the police.

According to reports, the singer was asked to stop performing as there were numerous violation of COVID-19 SOPs.

“We were already six tracks into the performance when we were told that we have been asked to stop the show,” Sohaib Lari from Big Foot productions told reporters.

“The officials from the commissioner’s office had arrived at the venue and weren’t too pleased with how the audience was following the Covid-19 SOPs. We were told that due to the violation of SOPs, we have to end the concert. That is when the management told us to cut it off.

We got on stage around 8:15, after the DJ was done with his gig. Around 9pm, we were asked to get off of the stage and leave the premises as well. There were police, and all we could hear was band karain ji, isay band karain. So, we had no other choice but to end the night.”

Later on, Shamoon took to Instagram and write that it was an “Unexpected end to a great vibe.” He also added, “K town fam, love you forever!”

At the moment, there are rumours circulating that the organizers have to pay a fine of Rs. 1 lakhs for violating SOPs during the coronavirus pandemic.
