28 Projects Worth $18.8Bn Completed Under CPEC Framework

ISLAMABAD: 28 Projects worth $18.8 billion, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, have been finished.

According to the details, 6 projects were for socio-economic development, 12 projects for infrastructure development, and 12 projects in the energy sector making 28 projects in total that have been finished.

According to the minister for planning, development, and special initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, 6 projects in Punjab, 7 in Sindh, 2 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 6 in Balochistan, 1 in Gilgit Baltistan, 1 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 5 in Islamabad were finished under the CPEC project.

Additionally, 9 Special economic zones have already been approved under CPEC:

  • Allama Iqbal Industrial City in Faisalabad, Punjab
  • Rashakai SEZ in KPK
  • Dhabeji SEZ in Sindh
  • Bostan SEZ in AJK
  • Mirpur SEZ in Karachi
  • Mohmand Marble City in ex-FATA
  • Maqpandass SEZ in Gilgit

It is important to note that out of these 9 SEZs, Bostan SEZ, Allama Iqbal Industrial City and Rashakai SEZs have been prioritized by the Federal Board of Investment for rapid development.
