KOHAT: On Sunday, five cousins were killed in an armed confrontation over a land dispute in the Payan neighborhood of the Lachi tehsil in Kohat.
As per the sources, the rivals beat up a man after he entered a disputed land. According to SHO Lachi police station, Qabal Khan, the man called his uncles and relatives to tell them about the incident.
He claimed that they went to their rival group to inquire as to why they had thrashed the man. However, the rivals became embroiled in an argument and later pulled out guns and began shooting at each other.
The SHO stated that the shooting killed 5 cousins, Mansoor, Rauf, Haider, and Saqib on the spot, while Ulfat died in a hospital from his injuries.
The police officer informed that the bodies were taken to the KDA Teaching Hospital for autopsies before being given to relatives for burial while the police had launched a search operation in order to apprehend the suspects.
