LHC Halts Transfer of LDA Director General

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has issued an order preventing the Punjab government from transferring the Director General of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Aamir Ahmad Khan.

According to a press release issued by the LDA, the court has directed the Chief Secretary of Punjab not to make any changes to the current LDA DG.

Additionally, the court has ordered the DG of LDA to establish rules and regulations for the appointment of an environmental consultant to address environmental concerns on major highways in the city.

The press release also states that LDA, in accordance with the court’s instructions, is taking steps to make the city’s main highways into model roads and is conducting a campaign on electronic media, major national newspapers, and social media.

A report on the progress of these efforts will be submitted to the court at the next hearing on February 3, 2023.
