LAHORE: The Chief Executive Officer of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), Imran Amin, announced the plans to construct 100,000 affordable homes along the River Ravi.
During a meeting with a landscape architect from MIT, Dr. James L. Wescoat, and a team from Lahore University for Management Sciences (LUMS), the Director of Hydrology Mohsin Atiq provided details on the ecological, environmental, and hydrological elements of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP).
The CEO emphasized the primary objective of RUDA to revitalize the environment and ecology, and shared plans to fund the construction of low-cost homes through Corporate Social Responsibility funds.
CEO Amin also discussed RUDA’s goals for waste management, forestation, and water treatment, while Dr. Wescoat shared his technical expertise and vision for the project.
The CEO stated that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the success of the project and to safeguard Lahore from future water and environmental challenges.
