Sindh CM Approves Rs. 22 Billion for Flood-Stalled Development

KARACHI: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, approved a budget of 22 billion PKR for the completion of 243 development projects that were disrupted by last year’s devastating floods in the province.

During a meeting presided over by the CM, the funds will be used for the completion of these stalled projects and the extension of the Rapid Response Force to all parts of the province.

Additionally, the establishment of a Crowd Management Unit for improved counterterrorism and security was approved.

The CM also approved 1.1 million PKR for the registration and related work of 75 acres of land designated for the Hyderabad Press Club. The Sindh province was hit hard by one of the most severe floods in the country’s history, leading to the displacement of 34 million people and the destruction of millions of homes.

Furthermore, the government, in partnership with non-government organizations, has begun the rehabilitation process, including the construction of new roads and homes damaged by the floods.
