RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Scheme Inspector has requested the Rawalpindi police to register cases against the owners and administration of six illegal housing societies.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the cases were filed against the illegal housing societies for continuing construction work without submitting a plan to the RDA.
The six illegal housing societies include:
- Atlantic City Housing Scheme Chak Beli Road
- Century Town Housing Scheme GT Road
- Shaheen Garden Moza Takhat Pari
- Shaheen Garden in Mandra Gujar Khan
- Capital Valley, located at Moza Katarian and Thallian.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate of RDA has registered FIRs against the illegal housing schemes and is taking legal action against their advertisements and marketing.
Moreover, RDA has warned the public not to invest in illegal housing schemes and urged sponsors to stop marketing their unapproved schemes and contact the RDA to get approval or face legal action.
RDA has also informed various government agencies about the illegal advertisements of private housing schemes on social media, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other internet apps.
Furthermore, DG RDA has ordered the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against unauthorized housing schemes, constructions, commercial activities, booking offices, and encroachments.
