RDA’s Operation Against Illegal Housing Structures in Full Swing

RAWALPINDI: On the orders of RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood and DG RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished various illegal structures on Chak Beli Road in Rawalpindi.

The officials of RDA razed down 22 under-construction residential structures, four site offices, and nine billboards of four illegal housing schemes.

According to an RDA spokesman, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate took legal action against four illegal housing schemes, namely:

  • Turkish Smart City
  • Nishan-e-Mustafa
  • Ample Living
  • Countryside Farms

The Director MP&TE RDA stated that the owners of the aforementioned housing schemes built structures without approval of the maps / No Objection Certificates (NOCs), which is in violation of the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010.

The DG RDA had directed the MP&TE Directorate to take strict action against encroachments, unauthorized constructions, and commercial activities without discrimination, according to the spokesman.

He also advised residents to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes.
