RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Corruption Department has registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, the ex-governor of Sindh, an ex-federal minister, two patwaris, and society owner Asim Aziz over allegations of corruption in a housing society.
According to the details, the case was initiated at the request of Nauman, the owner of Aziz Associates, while Zulfiqar Muhammad, Inspector Anti-Corruption, started the inquiry.
During the investigation, it was revealed that after Abdullah City’s reputation was destroyed and tales of loot and plunder became the talk of the town, the society’s owners launched a new scheme called Avalon City which has no record of NOC in RDA.
The inquiry also exposed the alleged collusion of the revenue department, as with the department’s help, the society’s owners allegedly started robbing the common citizens.
After the inquiry’s completion, Case No. 5/23 was registered against Asim Aziz, former federal minister Aamir Kayani, former governor Sindh Imran Ismail, and Fahad Kayani under sections 420, 468, 471, 405, and 5/2-47 PCA.
The anti-corruption sources stated that necessary steps would be taken soon to investigate the accused.
It is worth mentioning that Asim Aziz was arrested a day earlier by the CTD police of Islamabad, but he allegedly escaped the CTD custody with the help of armed men.
