LAKKI MARWAT: Former MNA Humayun Saifullah Khan has announced that the federal government has allocated Rs. 460 million to expedite the Baran Dam’s upraising project.
This announcement comes after Khan and his brother, Anwar Saifullah Khan, met with the Federal Minister for Water Resources, Khursheed Ahmed Shah, to discuss the delays in completing the dam’s upraising and the rehabilitation of the Marwat canal.
The Baran Dam, which was built in 1961, will see an increase in its storage capacity with the upraising project.
According to sources, this will positively impact the agriculture sector in Lakki Marwat and Bannu. Additionally, the rehabilitation of the Marwat canal is also included in the project.
The release of funds is a welcome development for the residents of Lakki Marwat and Bannu, as the completion of the project will bring relief to the agriculture sector and improve the lives of people in the area.
Besides, the sources added that the announcement is also in line with the government’s efforts to promote development and growth in various sectors across the country.
