RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated an operation against illegal housing schemes on the orders of Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.
As part of the ongoing operation, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) directorate of RDA has issued notices to the owners of five illegal private housing schemes.
These schemes include:
- Green lake City at Dhoke Bhaia Rawat, Chak Beli Khan Road
- Safanza New Era at Ralla Gujrain Chak Beli Khan Road
- Royal Ghar (Apna Ghar) at Mouza Paryal Chak Beli Khan Road
- New Iqra City at Mouza Dheri Jorian, Rawat Rawalpindi
- Hoon Farmhouse at Mouza Adyala Road Rawalpindi
The spokesperson of RDA stated that the Director General had instructed the authorities concerned to take strict action against illegal housing schemes and warned citizens not to invest in unauthorized projects.
The Director MP&TE has also been instructed to take action against illegal advertisements and marketing of illegal projects and lodge FIRs against violators of the rules.
In addition, the RDA authorities will lodge FIRs against the abovementioned illegal housing schemes.
The spokesperson added that the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes were misleading the public through illegal advertisements.
To combat this, the Planning Wing of RDA had requested the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA to take legal action.
The Director General has also urged citizens to check the status of housing schemes at RDA’s official website www.rda.gop.pk before investing.
