PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for Labour, Excise, and Narcotics Control, Haji Manzoor Khan Afridi, has emphasized the need for rapid development in the merged districts of the province.
During a visit to the Khyber district, Haji Manzoor Afridi held talks with tribal elites.
The people of the area apprised him of their individual and collective issues, and they assured him of their full cooperation in implementing the government policies.
The minister highlighted that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah rightly called tribal people the sword arms of Pakistan.
He noted that tribals are known for their patriotism and bravery, and they are also natural protectors of the country’s geographical borders.
Afridi assured that the people of Khyber will also benefit from the development and welfare schemes of the provincial and federal governments, similar to other merged districts.
He also pledged to eradicate prevalent poverty and backwardness in the district for good, and to resolve the issues presented by the tribal people on a priority basis.
