KOHAT: Kohat’s Deputy Commissioner, Azmatullah Khan Wazir, has pledged a long-term solution to the water crisis in Lachi tehsil.
In a press conference held at the Kohat Press Club, Wazir announced that he had instructed the Water Supply and Sanitation Company, irrigation department, cantonment officer, and tehsil municipal administration to initiate a joint operation against encroachments.
Furthermore, steps have been taken to discourage the issuance of NOCs to housing societies being developed on fertile land.
Wazir highlighted that a massive crackdown had been launched against vehicles with tinted glasses and motorcycles without number plates.
He added that the assistant commissioners of the Darra Adamkhel subdivision are leading counter-terrorism operations.
Wazir’s promise of a permanent solution to the water shortage in Lachi tehsil is a welcome relief to the locals, who have been struggling for years with inadequate water supply.
It is expected that the situation will improve in the coming months as the government takes active steps toward resolving the crisis.
