Lahore to Become a New Metropolitan Hub Through Ruda’s Twin City Concept: Punjab Minister

LAHORE: Punjab’s Housing, Urban Development, and Public Health Minister, Syed Ali Azfar Nasir, recently visited the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) office to review the progress of their ongoing projects.

According to the details, the minister was briefed on RUDA’s initiatives to promote environmental sustainability and urban regeneration in Lahore.

During his visit, the minister applauded the RUDA projects as a “twin city concept” that would revitalize the socio-economic and cultural aspects of Lahore, transforming it into a new metropolitan hub.

The officials of RUDA briefed the minister on various ongoing projects, including the construction of seven wastewater treatment plants and three barrages and river training works to improve the city’s infrastructure.

Additionally, the minister was informed about RUDA’s upcoming projects, such as Sapphire Bay, Chaharbagh, and Entertainment City.

The officials also discussed the Central Business District (CBD) projects, including the upgradation of Walton Road, providing service corridors, remodeling of Kalma Chowk, and the induction of water harvesting wells.

The minister was further briefed that business projects like Grand Souk would be built on the land of Camp Jail and Rescue 1122 on Ferozepur Road. RUDA officials expressed their commitment to promoting sustainable development through their projects.
