CDA Removes 100 Illegal Structures for Development of Park Enclave III Scheme

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cleared the way for the development of the Park Enclave III scheme near Chak Shahzad by removing around 100 illegal structures.

The housing scheme was launched a few years ago, and the CDA auctioned 1,047 plots to the public in 2020, promising to complete development work within a year.

However, the CDA failed to meet its deadline, causing delays in the payment of dues by plot purchasers, with around Rs 2 billion still pending.

According to the CDA, the adverse possession of land, with approximately 100 illegal structures, was the primary obstacle to the development work.

A couple of years ago, the CDA started development work, but out of the total 1,000 plots, only 300 were prepared for possession.

On Tuesday, the CDA conducted a massive operation to remove all illegal structures from the housing scheme area, led by the member estate, Afnan Alam.

The CDA has issued a press release, saying that the operation was in line with Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal’s directions, with various departments such as the Enforcement Directorate, Land and Rehabilitation, Islamabad Administration, and Islamabad Police participating in the operation.

Last week, the CDA conducted a similar operation in C-13 and removed around 1,000 rooms and structures that were built by locals in connivance with CDA officials to obtain alternative plots from the civic agency.

The CDA suspended two officials accused of aiding people in raising the construction. The CDA plans to begin development work in C-13 and C-16 soon.
