RAWALPINDI: In a recent development, three owners of an illegal housing scheme in Rawalpindi, Pakistan have been accused of cheating and misleading the public by using the official logo of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to claim the project as an approved housing scheme.
The suspects are Chaudhry Haris Iftikhar, Zafar Mushtaq, and Sharjil Ahmed.
Following the orders of the Director General of RDA, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the police have launched a manhunt for the three accused.
They have been booked on a complaint filed by RDA’s Directorate of Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering.
The RDA has also written a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to initiate legal action against the fraudsters for advertising an illegal housing scheme in the media and duping innocent people.
Chaudhry Haris Iftikhar and his partners have gone into hiding to evade arrest.
The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate of RDA has issued a notice and filed an FIR against the owners of the illegal private housing scheme Rose Valley at Mouza Adyala on Adyala Road Rawalpindi.
The sponsors have also been warned to stop marketing their unapproved and illegal housing schemes.
The Director MP&TE RDA has also issued a demolition order against the illegal housing scheme and has directed action against illegal advertisements and marketing.
The RDA has advised the public to check with the authority before investing in any housing scheme and has cautioned them against investing in illegal and unauthorized housing schemes.
The RDA Planning Wing has requested the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA to take legal action against illegal and misleading advertisements of these housing schemes to prevent the public from falling prey to their scams.
The public is urged to avoiinvestingts in illegal and unauthorized housing schemes.
