ISLAMABAD: The officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) presented an optimistic outlook on development activities in the federal capital during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need for expediting development projects while maintaining transparency and ensuring quality work.
Despite being a planned city, Islamabad currently lacks a landfill site, leading to the dumping of solid waste in open areas near residential neighborhoods.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) assured the prime minister that both short-term and long-term plans for solid waste management are underway, with an international tender already issued.
Besides, the prime minister directed the CDA to present a comprehensive solid waste management plan for approval.
Additionally, commercial plots in prime locations of Islamabad are ready for auction, although critics suggest exploring income-generating projects to address the CDA’s financial challenges.
