Water Crisis Hits Johar Town as WASA Fails to Provide Alternative Water Source

LAHORE: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has come under fire for its failure to ensure water supply to a significant number of residents in Johar Town for the past few days.

With the situation expected to persist for another day or two, residents are left without any alternative water source.

The water shortage issue arose after a sinkhole appeared on Khayaban-i-Firdausi, near the LDA complex.

Since then, residents in affected areas, such as E-block near Jagawar Chowk, have been facing tremendous difficulties without any access to the water supply.

Despite numerous complaints and attempts to contact Wasa officials, residents have received no response and no assistance in the form of water tankers.

A resident from a block in Johar Town highlighted the lack of communication and assistance from Wasa, stating that their phone calls went unanswered and promises of water tankers never materialized.

The details suggest that this is not the first time such a situation has occurred, as a similar incident took place near Shaukat Khanum Hospital last week.

In response to the growing concerns, a spokesperson for Wasa informed sources that the water supply would be restored on Wednesday.

The spokesperson assured residents that the necessary steps have been taken to resume the water supply and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
