RAWALPINDI: A tenant who rented a bus stand near Faizabad in Islamabad has filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the decision made by a civil judge.
The case involves the owner of the land, Raja Shahid, who rented out the bus stand on Karnal Sher Khan Road (formerly known as I.J. Principal Road) to Raja Shabbir.
The dispute arose when the landowner terminated the lease agreement due to non-payment of rent and evicted Shabbir from the property.
In response, Shabbir filed a case in a civil court and, with the assistance of his supporters, occupied the property.
On May 27, Civil Judge Syed Mohammad Zahid Tirmizi issued a stay order in favor of the landlord, Raja Shahid, which was later confirmed on July 6.
Notably, the tenant had previously filed three lawsuits in different courts and obtained stay orders from each of them.
In this latest development, Raja Shabbir filed an appeal against the civil judge’s order, which was promptly dismissed by the additional district and session judge (ADSJ).
The ADSJ’s order sheet mentioned that Shabbir had obtained the stay order from a court in Rawalpindi by submitting forged documents.
It is worth noting that, he is currently facing a criminal case related to the submission of these documents and is on pre-arrest interim bail.
