Rawalpindi District to Get State-of-the-Art Circuit House

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi district is set to witness the construction of its first modern Circuit House, as funds amounting to Rs1.84 billion have been allocated for the project.

The allocation of funds comes under the annual development program (ADP) of the provincial government.

Additionally, approvals have been granted for the upgradation and renovation of the Murree camp office of the Rawalpindi commissioner, as well as the construction and renovation of the district revenue officer’s residence.

The upcoming Circuit House is expected to be a state-of-the-art facility, marking a significant milestone for Rawalpindi.

In the colonial-era administration, a circuit house served as an administrative unit, providing accommodation for visiting officers and officials, while also serving as a guest house and housing administrative offices.

The construction of the Circuit House in Rawalpindi is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

Furthermore, the facility will be spread over an area of 5 kanal on government-owned land, which has already been selected for the purpose.

Earlier reports suggested that the proposed structure would be a five-story building covering 24 kanal of land.

The tender process for the construction of the circuit house is underway, and the contract is expected to be awarded next month.
