Punjab CM Orders Robust Rainwater Drainage Plan for Lahore

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, during a high-level meeting, called for a sustainable plan to effectively drain rainwater from low-lying areas of Lahore.

He also emphasized the need to expedite projects aimed at public welfare and urged that road and greenbelt construction should be at the same level.

In the meeting, the CM highlighted the importance of addressing the lack of proper drainage systems on major roads in the city, particularly on The Mall, Multan Road, Gulberg’s Main Boulevard, and other key routes.

Moreover, he instructed the concerned authorities to make necessary arrangements to ensure the swift drainage of rainwater from these areas.

Besides, Naqvi stressed the timely completion of development projects not only in Lahore but also in other major cities of Punjab.

The meeting also featured a detailed briefing on the development schemes underway in the provincial capital.
