LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has stepped up its efforts to address the issue of unauthorized constructions and illegal commercial activities in key areas of the city.
Under the leadership of Commissioner and LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the operations have been launched in areas including Ferozepur Road, Avenue One, and Jubilee Town.
In alignment with the city’s dedication to urban planning and development regulations, the LDA teams have taken actions, including demolishing and sealing multiple illegal structures.
These operations aim to rectify unauthorized alterations, encroachments, and unlawful commercialization.
The operation was supervised by Additional DG Housing, retired Capt. Shahmeer Iqbal, and executed by Director Town Planning VII, Syed Ali Abbas.
Moreover, unauthorized alterations were removed from Plot No. 622/5 D1, as well as from Plot No. 283/2 B2 where illegal structures were promptly dismantled.
In addition, Plot No. 255/2B One also faced the consequences of unauthorized changes, while Plot No. 55/17 B1 was sealed due to encroachment.
Furthermore, a shutter that was causing encroachment issues was demolished on Kacha Jail Road.
Ongoing unauthorized constructions near Kacha Jail Road Flyover, including an unapproved basement, were swiftly taken down.
Similarly, illegal commercial shops near Hammonat Factory, Ferozepur Road, met the same fate as their shutters were removed.
Besides, the buildings erected without proper authorization along Ferozepur Road near Pak Arab Society were also demolished.
With a determination to eliminate unauthorized commercial structures, LDA personnel sealed over two dozen properties in these areas.
Operations also sealed Plot No. 19 Block H and Plot No. 44 Block H in Avenue One.
In Jubilee Town, Plot No. 757 Block B, Plot No. 627 Block A, and several other properties faced a similar outcome.
The details suggest that the affected properties received multiple notices before the operations commenced, ensuring compliance with due process.
According to the spokesperson, the crackdown against unauthorized commercial activities and constructions would continue throughout the city.
