RAWALPINDI: In a joint venture between a private housing society in Gujjar Khan and Pakistan Railways, a new railway underpass was officially opened in the society on Sunday.
This collaborative effort aims to provide an alternate route for train movement during ongoing construction work.
According to an official from the housing society, all train operations will be redirected to the alternative track while the railway track underpass in Gujjar Khan is being constructed, ensuring that railway passengers experience minimal disruption.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mohammad Imran, the Executive Engineer of Pakistan Railways Rawalpindi Division, announced that the completion of the alternative track is projected within the next 45 days.
He also acknowledged the housing society’s management and emphasized that the initiation of the alternative track is a crucial step for the construction of the railway underpass.
It is worth noting that presently, the housing society stands as a standout project in the Potohar Region.
Imran also outlined the implementation of Pakistan Railways’ policy, which involves the creation of an alternative railway track.
This project is anticipated to conclude within a span of 30 to 45 days, while following its completion, the housing society will proceed with constructing the underpass.
Addressing the attendees, Project Director Brigadier Muhammad Mahmood Azam noted the challenges faced eight months prior in accessing the project site and inspecting its various sections.
