GUJRANWALA: In a momentous event, the groundbreaking ceremony for ARY Laguna took place at the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Gujranwala on Thursday.
This occasion saw the presence of ARY Laguna Chairman Mr. Salman Iqbal, Project Director of DHA Gujranwala Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan Niazi, prominent industrialists, investors, DHA officials, and distinguished business figures. Major General Abdul Moeed Khan, GOC Gujranwala, graced the event as the chief guest.
During his address, the Chairman of ARY Laguna, Mr. Salman Iqbal, shared insights into the venture.
He recounted the initial skepticism faced when he announced bringing ARY Laguna to Gujranwala, with many questioning the choice of location.
The Chairman stated that, “I told them that Punjab would accept me openheartedly.”
He further reflected on how conceiving and launching such a real-estate project during the COVID-19 lockdowns was a formidable challenge.
Despite early doubts about water availability and other concerns, Mr. Iqbal noted the remarkable progress of ARY Laguna in Karachi.
He emphasized that ARY Laguna Gujranwala is set to become the world’s largest lagoon project.
Addressing the nation’s economic challenges, Mr. Iqbal expressed optimism about the resilience of the Pakistani people to overcome the economic crisis.
In December 2020, ARY Laguna and DHA Gujranwala signed an agreement to develop a beach-view society in Gujranwala, following the successful model of DHA City Karachi.
The signing ceremony, attended by Corps Commander Gujranwala Lieutenant General Asim Munir, marked the beginning of this transformative project.
It is worth noting that ARY Laguna aims to create Pakistan’s first-ever artificial beach and resort-style housing and commercial society.
In Karachi, the ARY Laguna DHA City project is making history as South Asia’s first man-made beach living project.
Besides, it also features an artificial lagoon with crystal-clear waters and white sand, private beach access for residents, and a wide array of water sports facilities, setting a new standard for coastal living in the region.
