NHA Issues Letter of Intent for the Construction of Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway

National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued a Letter of Intent for the construction of the Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway project, which is the final segment of the Lahore-Rawalpindi Motorway (M-2)

For the construction of the motorway project, which is being carried out under the Public-Private Partnership mode on a Build-Operate-Transfer basis, the authority has chosen Techno-Matracon as the successful bidder.

According to the specifics, the project’s total cost was PKR 85.6 billion, of which PKR 6 billion is asked for as Capital Viability Gap Funding (VGF) during the construction phase.

Additionally, over the next 25 years, the contractor will give PKR 112 billion to NHA as its revenue share.

It was mentioned that the winning bidder offered to build the highway for half as much as other companies.

It is important to note that contracts for the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway have also been given to Techno-Matracon.
