ETNCD to Send Assessment Forms with Property Tax Challans

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department (ETNCD) has made the decision to issue assessment forms and tax challans to every property taxpayer in Lahore.

In order to improve transparency in the property tax system and address residents’ complaints, the ETNCD reportedly planned to transmit the tax assessment together with the challans.

According to Excise officials, property owners can determine their tax amounts and whether their property is classed as “commercial” or “residential” from the assessment notification.

The public can get in touch with the proper authorities and have the incorrect classification corrected.

It is important to note that although the ETNCD collected PKR 12 billion in property taxes the previous year, the agency has increased its objective for the current fiscal year to PKR 18 billion.

To collect taxes in accordance with the new classification, the authority has decided to alter the records.
