RDA Demolishes 3 Booking Offices of Illegal Housing Schemes

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has demolished the booking offices of 3 illicit housing schemes.

The authorities demolished two sub-offices on the Tarahia Gorakhpur Road and one main office of Capital Flora Valley on Thatha Gorakhpur Road.

The operation has been carried out on the instructions of the Director General RDA, Saif Ali Jappa.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the three housing schemes did not receive any approval from the Rawalpindi Development Authority, and yet were being developed, violating the Punjab Private Housing Rules 2021.

It was shared that action was taken with the assistance of the Metropolitan Planning & Traffic Engineering Department’s local police department, and several FIRs were lodged against the owners of these housing societies.

He also added that on the directions of the Director General, RDA was also taking strict actions against the advertising and promotional campaigns of illegal housing schemes.

In addition to this, he said that the owners and sponsors of these housing societies had been manipulating the general public through advertisements, therefore the cybercrime wing had been requested to take legal action against illegal promotional campaigns.

It is important to mention that the DG RDA has advised the general public not to invest in these unapproved housing schemes in order to keep the investments safe.
