Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has announced the Sutlej Indus Economic Network (SIEN), a PKR 160 billion project connecting seven districts to highways and motorways between the Sutlej and the Sindh River.
According to the details, the Indus Highway will connect the districts of Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran, and Bahawalpur.
This mega project will assist farmers, traders, manufacturers, and investors in a new period of development and wealth. Additionally, establishing specialized machinery centers in Pakpattan and Okara would benefit potato farmers.
Moreover, the CM said that PKR 15 billion would be spent to construct the project’s initial phase, which spans from the Kasur Bypass to the Lahore Ring Road (G-1 SIEN Corridor).
He added that the burden on big cities would reduce as outlying areas expand, and new job opportunities emerge.
