Jirga Lambasts CM KP Over Negligence of Kohat in Development Projects

PESHAWAR: A jirga consisting of representatives from the political, business, and social spheres expressed dissatisfaction with chief minister Mahmood Khan on Monday for failing to announce any major development projects in Kohat.

They complained that despite the chief minister’s several trips to the region, no major initiative was announced, adding that the district receives billions of rupees in royalties from oil and gas exploration, but no major development scheme has been announced for Kohat.

As per the information, the attendees bemoaned the fact that local MPs had made empty promises regarding the enlargement of the major roads in front of the Kohat Gate.

They also noted that despite many legislative openings of garbage recycling facilities, their construction was still pending.

Additionally, despite being inaugurated by the former chief minister Pervez Khattak in 2018, they claimed that repair work on Liaquat Memorial Hospital could not start till this point.

The members of the jirga regretted that their promises did not equate to practical applications and that lawmakers had failed to supply the KDA Teaching Hospital with the necessary equipment while the campuses of the universities for women and engineering remained hollow dreams for the masses.
