Helping Hand Plans to Build 1,000 Houses for Flood-Hit Across Country

ISLAMABAD: At least 1,000 houses will be built by Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HRRD) for those living in flood-affected parts of the country.

According to sources, Abid Bukhari, a representative of the organization, said that HRRD intended to begin building houses on January 15 and that the project would likely be finished by the end of the current year.

He stated that after the approval of the layout and specifics of the construction by the senior management committee, the groundwork would begin.

According to Bukhari, more than 33 million people were impacted, 7.9 million people were displaced, 2.1 million houses were damaged or destroyed, and affected Pakistanis were still battling to get their lives back on track.

He said that HRRD had been giving flood victims newly built homes, food, personal care products, household necessities, medical care, and farming facilities.

Besides, he also added that HRRD provided building supplies such as doors, windows, mud house rods, and polythene sheets, along with Rs 5,000 in cash for construction, to help the flood-affected families in Quetta, South, Punjab, and Sindh.
