Sindh Govt Issues PKR 1Bn for Preservation of Historical Sites

KARACHI: The Sindh government has released PKR 1 billion to protect and preserve historical sites in the province.

A Board of the Endowment Fund for Archaeological Sites and Heritage Buildings issued a notification announcing the establishment of the fund.

The Sindh Minister of Culture, Sardar Shah, stated that the fund would be used to preserve, repair, restore, and maintain historical landmarks and archaeological sites.

He ordered a policy for organizations and businesses to invest in the fund under corporate social responsibility.

The fund will also be open to contributions from international organizations. The Sindh government has allocated 250 million rupees for the fund during the current fiscal year.

The fund aims to support the preservation of heritage sites, as well as other aspects of Sindh’s cultural life.
