Accused in M6 Motorway Project Scam Offers Rs. 1.25bn Plea Bargain to NAB

HYDERABAD: Ashique Hussain Kaleri, a contractor accused of involvement in the multibillion-rupee land scam related to the M6 Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway, has submitted a plea bargain application to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to pay back Rs1.25bn in assets.

As per the details, Kaleri has offered to return Rs1.2449bn as a plea bargain in one single installment.

According to the plea bargain, Kaleri has recovered seven properties valued at Rs636.338m and separately offered 11 other immovable properties and three vehicles to NAB.

Additionally, there are three other immovable properties against which he has made partial payment but has not acquired the ownership papers.

The sources informed that Kaleri has purchased 11 plots, bungalows, and three vehicles from the embezzled money of the M6 motorway project.

Besides, the Accountability Court II, Hyderabad has forwarded the application to Director General NAB Karachi for consideration.

Kaleri’s advocate said he would be able to share an update about the acceptance of the bargain at the next hearing date on May 11.
