Special Court Orders Trial of 4 Accused as Proclaimed Offenders in Motorway M-6 Scam

KARACHI: On Thursday, the Special Court of Banking ordered the start of the procedure to formally charge 4 accused people, including the former DC Naushehro Feroz as proclaimed offenders.

According to sources, during the hearing of the Rs. 3 billion Sukkur-Hyderabad M-6 Motorway land purchase case, the court issued directions.

It mandated the posting of newspaper ads calling for the capture of the fugitives and ordered the FIA investigating officer to provide information on the accused’s property.

At the same time, the judge had earlier also authorized the 4-day detention of suspects who had been detained in connection with the M-6 property purchase controversy.

The sources told that the suspects Aziz Ansari, Rustam Khoso, Shafique Soomro, Sajjad Memon, and others were brought in before the court

Besides, the anti-corruption squad was also instructed by the court to finish its investigation into the accused until the next hearing while also awarding the accused a four-day detention.

It should be mentioned that 22 officials have been charged in a scheme involving the purchase of the motorway property.

Additionally, the ‘front man’ of private contractor Rehmatullah Solangi was previously detained by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team in the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway land purchase scam.
