LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has announced an investigation into development projects launched during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s tenure.
The department has sought records of housing schemes built during Mehmood-ur-Rasheed’s term, in addition to records of the housing department, municipalities, and education.
The sources told that the anti-corruption officials also asked for records of all the schemes and tenders issued during Murad Raas’s era, and the construction projects of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
Besides, the DG Anti-Corruption Punjab has stated that the investigations will be conducted on the basis of evidence and merit.
Last month, PTI leader Usman Dar appeared before the anti-corruption team in Lahore for an inquiry into corruption charges.
Dar and his brothers were accused of receiving Rs. 5 million as a commission from contractors in the four UCs in his constituency.
Furthermore, he demanded an open inquiry into allegations leveled against him and his brothers, stating that all tenders were awarded as per the law.
Dar also claimed that the case is registered against him at the behest of Defence Minister and PML-N leader Khawaja Asif.
