ADC Discusses Plans to Remove Traffic Bottlenecks

PESHAWAR: On the orders of Deputy Commissioner Shafiullah Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sania Safion presided over a meeting to discuss maintaining the flow of traffic inside the city’s boundaries.

In the meeting, a thorough plan was finalized in which the district administration would work with the traffic police to address the problem of traffic congestion.

As per the details, the discussion covered in depth the traffic issues in inner-city markets and commercial districts, and attendees offered their recommendations for addressing the issues.

Furthermore, after carefully considering each recommendation, the Additional Deputy Commissioner concluded that a daily crackdown on encroachments inside municipal limits would be launched.

Besides, to solve the majority of the traffic issues, the meeting also decided on a plan to facilitate traffic flow in Ashraf Road, Chowk Yadgar, Ghantaghar, Tehsil Gurghadi, and Riti Bazaar.

Additionally, ADC Sania Safi tasked the administrative officers and traffic wardens to put the plan into action at the earliest and to initiate a coordinated operation against the encroachment mafia.

SP Traffic Muhammad Saeed Khan and Assistant Commissioner Rao Hashim, Chief Warden Civil Defense Syed Fayaz Ali Shah, Additional Assistant Commissioner Junaid Shah, Additional Assistant Commissioner Engineer Misbah Waheed, DSP Traffic Islahuddin, attended the meeting.
