QUETTA: Balochistan has launched the ‘Green Bus Service’, according to an announcement by the Transport Secretary, Dr. Muhammad Aslam Baloch.
The project, which will be completed under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, aims to provide affordable and accessible transport for citizens of the province.
In the initial phase, 16 buses will operate on the Sariab Road and Baleli route, with plans to expand to other cities in the second phase.
The project was finalized by the Balochistan Public Private Partnership (BPPP) Board in August last year and is part of 15 development projects under the PPP mode.
Other projects include a solar desalination plant in Gwadar, the development of the Hub Special Economic Zone, and 100 MW solar parks in the Hub.
The Transport Secretary also highlighted that the government is working on similar projects focused on public welfare.
