Caretaker Minister Calls for Improved Investment Support in Punjab

LAHORE: The Caretaker Minister of Industries, Commerce, and Energy, S M Tanveer, has instructed the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) to provide all necessary facilities to investors.

During a recent meeting of PBIT presided over by the Minister, it was decided to revive the Punjab Chamber of Commerce Coordination Committee.

The Committee, which will include industrialists, government officers, and representatives of chambers, will work towards resolving the problems faced by the industry in the province.

The Minister emphasized the need for PBIT to set goals and ensure that all facilities are made available to investors to promote growth.

He stated that the new investment bill would be implemented through concrete measures, and the courses would be tailored to meet the needs of the local industry.

At the meeting, the CEO of PBIT, Jalal Hasan, informed the attendees of the meeting about the board’s recent accomplishments and its upcoming objectives.

He informed that out of the 13 approved Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the province, 10 have been established and six more are in the pipeline.
