CDA Assures Quaid-i-Azam University of Resolving Pending Issues

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has pledged to construct a sports complex on Quaid-i-Azam University’s (QAU) campus and address the university’s outstanding issues.

According to sources, CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal confirmed this during his visit to QAU, where he also held discussions with acting Vice Chancellor Dr. Shaista Sohail, QAU Registrar Dr. Raja Qaisar Ahmed, and others.

QAU management had urged CDA to fulfill its promises made through the Joint Working Group (JWG) formed after the controversy over the Bhara Kahu bypass project.

While the bypass project is nearing completion, QAU has asked CDA to resolve its issues before the project is completed.

Mengal assured QAU’s management that all of the university’s outstanding issues would be resolved soon, and as a gesture of goodwill, CDA will also help construct the sports complex on the university’s land.

Additionally, CDA will provide funding to QAU students for research in areas such as the environment and bio-remediation.

Besides, QAU Registrar expressed optimism after the meeting and noted that the university management was confident that CDA would resolve the university’s issues, including the pending demarcation of land.

It is worth noting that previously, QAU and CDA have had disagreements regarding the construction of the Bhara Kau bypass project, which cuts across QAU’s land.

CDA had pledged to refurbish existing roads on the university’s campus in the JWG but had not followed through.
