ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a rigorous operation against the proliferation of illegal car showrooms across various sectors and business hubs within Islamabad.
The crackdown, executed by the Building Control, State, and Enforcement Wing, has led to the sealing of more than 100 unauthorized showrooms in the G-8 center, where numerous complaints regarding these violations were reported.
Chairman CDA, Noorul Amin Mengal, directed the operation to address pedestrian safety and the concerns of local businesses.
The initiative, which began on Tuesday, has resulted in the sealing of over 130 illegal showrooms not only in the G-8 center but also in the F-10 center, the F-11 center, and the Blue Area.
As per the details, these unauthorized car showrooms were encroaching on public parking spaces and posing difficulties for pedestrians.
Furthermore, the property owners had been previously cautioned through advertisements against using their properties for unlawful activities that deviate from their designated purposes.
Following a thorough survey and compilation of a list of illegal car showrooms across the city’s centers, a series of actions were taken under a comprehensive strategy.
According to the spokesperson, this initiative will persist until all illegal showrooms have been eliminated.
