In the process, approximately 13,243 items belonging to encroachers were seized. These items were later auctioned off. Additionally, the CDA has collected fines amounting to Rs. 5.126 million from violators as penalties, according to sources within the CDA.

The sources further revealed that the Directorate of Enforcement has initiated a total of 1,423 anti-encroachment operations throughout the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The Directorate of Municipal Administration, operating under the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), is overseeing the matter.

In terms of safeguarding citizens, the sources highlighted measures taken for their protection, especially in the Margalla Hills National Park. Forest guards patrol the trails and hiking tracks daily. Equipped with wireless sets connected to the CDA’s centralized Environment Wing control room, these guards are primed to communicate any emergencies or untoward incidents. In case of medical emergencies or other crises, the control room dispatches rescue teams promptly.

The sources also emphasized that the installation of water pipelines and electricity within the Margalla Hills National Park is strictly prohibited to ensure the safety of the wildlife, with exceptions made only for designated villages.
