ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority’s engineering wing has asked the FWO to construct Margalla Road near sector D-12 in accordance with the authorized plan in order to prevent access to unregistered housing societies.
According to a letter, the engineering wing requested that the FWO and its contractors build the road along D-12/3 in accordance with the approved design.
It further noted that any entry or crossing structure to unlawful housing societies is not permitted under the CDA’s original project design.
The letter said that any modifications should be immediately put back into place according to the issued design and that the actual road profile must strictly be followed.
According to the 1992 zoning laws, housing societies and new constructions are not permitted inside the boundaries of Zone III, which includes the area to the north of D-12/3 where some residents desire to have direct access.
Seven unlawful housing societies, including Al Rayan Society, Ali Town, Arcadia City, Green Hills, Green Meadows North Ridge, and Major Makhdoom Society, are listed as existing in Zone III on the CDA website.
Meanwhile, the development of Margalla Road from G.T. Road to D-12 is underway, with over 80% of work completed, including carpeting.
