CDA Gives Green Signal to IB Chief’s Plot Allotment

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has requested that the audit para related to the allotment of two plots to Director General of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) Faud Asadullah be settled, claiming that the allotments were made in accordance with the rules.

Recently, these allotments have drawn criticism in a report from Pakistan’s Auditor General (AGP), and the objection was emphasized in the CDA’s audit report for the 2021–2022 fiscal year.

The details show that CDA gave IB’s chief two plots measuring 50×90 in Sector C-15 in February 2020 and September 2020 through one pooling and multiple pooling, respectively, in accordance with the Land Sharing Policy of 2007.

The auditors believed that multiple pooling, where the land that the CDA acquired was in joint ownership, violated the aforementioned policy.

However, the audit stated that where the raw land was owned by a single owner and the civic body could compensate the developed plot through a single pooling.

“Allotments were made strictly in accordance with rules and regulations and no loss was caused to the authority, therefore, the para under reply may very graciously be dropped,” said the sources in CDA.

Besides, the civic body on October 18, also sent a letter to the Director General of Audit requesting that the audit para be resolved and stating that the allocation had been made legally.
