ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently launched a financial bidding process to acquire 30 buses for their metro bus project, connecting Peshawar Mor to the New Islamabad Airport.

The bids were opened in the presence of members of the Financial Evaluation Committee, and three bidders were found to be qualified.

Master Motors Corporation submitted a bid of PKR 29.8 million per bus, while Foton and Auto Park submitted a bid of PKR 33 million per bus, according to unnamed CDA officials.

However, an overseas company, Higer Bus Company Limited, submitted the lowest proposal of PKR 728 million for the buses, or PKR 24.2 million per vehicle.

The lowest bid will be forwarded to CDA management for final approval before placing the order for buses.

According to CDA officials, the buses will be provided within four months.

It is also important to note that the corridors and stations of the metro track have already been constructed, and work on the cleanliness, security, ticketing, and station management systems is expected to be completed soon.

Additionally, the CDA took over the project from the National Highway Authority (NHA) on government instructions in March 2021.

In the fiscal year 2020-21, the government has set aside PKR 300 million for this project.
