ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in a meeting, presided over by the Chairman Captain (r) Muhammad Usman Younis, discussed moving all CDA offices and city streetlights to solar-powered energy.
According to the details, the chairman stated that a consultant would be hired to select appropriate locations for the installation of clean and green energy equipment so that a financial feasibility study could be completed.
He also issued the directives that PC-II be prepared at the earliest and presented for approval at the follow-up meetings.
Besides, the chairman added that it was a need of the hour for the country to prioritize clean and green energy initiatives, adding that, the CDA would make every effort to shift all of its offices and street lights to go solar.
Furthermore, members of the engineering and planning departments and officers from the electrical and mechanical wing were also present during the meeting.
The chairman stated that these actions would not only increase energy conservation but also drastically lower costs.
