CDA Pulls the Plug on 50% of Islamabad’s Street Lights as Part of Power Saving Plan

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to conserve energy by turning off 50% of the lights on city roads, with an exception for residential areas where all street lights will remain on for the convenience of citizens.

The move is part of the larger federal government energy conservation effort.

In a statement, a CDA spokesperson emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting the government’s austerity campaign and called on residents of the federal capital to do their part by reducing unnecessary electricity usage in their homes.

In addition to the street light initiative, the CDA is also exploring other ways to reduce energy consumption, such as upgrading to more efficient lighting systems and implementing smart city technologies.

This effort is crucial as the government is looking to reduce energy consumption and save valuable resources for the betterment of the country.

CDA says it hopes that this effort will help set a positive example for the rest of the country to follow.
