CDA Set to Approve Development Plans for Sectors F-13, D-13, and E-13

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board, led by CDA Chairman Noorul Amin Mengal, is set to review and potentially approve the layout plans (LOPs) for three new residential sectors: F-13, D-13, and E-13.

According to sources, CDA acquired these sectors back in 2008; however, due to complications in obtaining possession of the land, the development work was delayed.

Previously, the CDA had approved LOPs for these sectors without conducting proper topographic surveys, resulting in planning issues. To rectify this, the CDA officials recently decided to revise the LOPs with comprehensive topographic surveys.

A town planner stated that the revised LOPs for these three sectors will now be presented to the CDA board for final approval.

Once the LOPs are approved, the estate and land wings will initiate allotments to local landlords, while the engineering wing will take necessary steps to initiate development activities.

Under the land-sharing formula, the CDA acquired these sectors, and in return, local landowners will receive a developed plot of one kanal for every four kanal they owned.

Furthermore, an official from the CDA revealed that these sectors will comprise over 13,000 plots, including commercial areas, and are expected to generate substantial revenue for the CDA.

Moreover, the planning wing’s senior official acknowledged the CDA’s failure to acquire possession of the land since 2008.

However, they expressed optimism that development work will now commence promptly.

In addition, the CDA board will also consider approving brochures for the auction of numerous plots for food outlets in the proposed Capital Street, located near the 7th Avenue interchange in the Arts and Crafts Village.

Besides, the CDA board will also finalize the CDA budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2023-24.

It is anticipated that an allocation of around Rs. 150 billion will be approved for both development and non-development projects.
