CDA to Complete New Road for Diplomatic Enclave in ‘Two Months’

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to complete the construction of the 3.25-kilometer-long Diplomatic Enclave Road within the next two months.

According to a CDA official, the authority has accelerated work on the road, which will connect the Diplomatic Enclave with its extended area, providing an alternate route to the currently used Third Avenue.

The official added that the road starts on Murree Road and takes an L-shape.

As a result, the CDA has issued notices to vacate land to all houses on the proposed route and has already completed the demolition of over 22 houses.

Once the road is completed, the Third Avenue will be restricted for security purposes and all embassies will be asked to move to their designated areas in the diplomatic enclave.

The new road is expected to enable more embassies and missions to be accommodated in the extended area and open to all traffic.

The CDA started this project in response to security concerns raised by an embassy of a friendly country located on the Third Avenue.
