RAWALPINDI: The Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB), Imran Gulzar, has stated that the board has implemented a “zero-tolerance” policy against handcart bazaars, and vendors will not be allowed to violate the rules.
He added that these bazaars create problems for citizens, such as traffic congestion, and the board will take solid steps to address public complaints.
During the sixth ‘Khuli Kutchery,’ which was held to address citizens’ complaints, the CEO informed the residents about the RCB’s efforts to clean all Cantonment areas and urged them to use trash trolleys or dump garbage at the designated spots.
Furthermore, the authorities heard 26 complaints regarding various branches, including sanitation, engineering, tax, water supply, and enforcement, and directed the concerned officials to resolve them within the shortest possible time frame.
The Cantonment Executive Officer emphasized that the board is committed to resolving the complaints of the residents without any discrimination.
Besides, ‘Khuli Kutcheries’ are being held to provide relief to the residents and address their complaints on priority, according to the RCB spokesperson.
