Chairman CDA Pushes for Digitization of Land Records to Improve Efficiency and Service Delivery

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Noor ul Amin Mengal, has been giving special attention to the authority’s facilitation center, regularly visiting since his appointment.

The center was established to bring together all CDA formations that deal with the public under one roof, making it easier for residents of Islamabad to get their work done.

However, the center has not been successful due to inadequate space for the huge physical record and establishment of different directorates.

During a recent visit to the facilitation center, Mengal expressed his desire to digitize the land record of the authority on automation, something that has not been accomplished since the creation of the authority.

He tweeted about the need to shift services to automation to make the process paperless and men-free. However, the digitization of land records has been attempted before, with projects signed in 2014 and 2020 that have yet to be completed.

While the concerned circles welcomed Mengal’s interest in public affairs, they have urged him to investigate the delays in the execution of the previous projects before proceeding with new ones.

If successful, the digitization of land records could greatly enhance the efficiency and disposal of work at CDA, improving its planning capabilities.
