The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) faced criticism for appointing a grade-18 officer as the head of the Internal Accountability Board, a body responsible for holding officials accountable for corruption and misconduct.
After objections were raised, the Chairman decided to revise the board’s composition, with the officer in question appointed as the board’s secretary instead.
A senior member or the Chairman himself will now be appointed as the new head of the board.
A new post of Director Discipline will also be created, with the Confidential Cell placed under it to improve the performance of disciplinary proceedings.
The reconstituted board will aim to ensure the prompt resolution of complaints and maintain transparency in the authority’s operations.
The CDA spokesperson stated that the decision on the new composition was still under discussion.
The board will carry out inquiries whenever misconduct is reported, as it seeks to strengthen internal accountability.
